Beginning February 8, Silver Rooks will be hosting monthly chess tournaments at the Silver City Public Library, 515 W College Ave. The tournaments will run from 10:00-2:00.
Online registration is required by the Thursday before the tournaments by emailing ricklassnewmexico@gmail.com. Entry fees will be $10 per tournament, and prize money will generally be 75% of total entry fees. Late and onsite registration may be available depending on the number of entries. A $5 late registration fee would apply.
Membership in the US Chess Federation is required to play. Memberships are available at www.uschess.org.
Spring 2020 event dates are below. Registration is from 10:00-10:10, first game starting at 10:15. Please bring your board and clock, and paper and pen to record your moves.
